RAGGING

It is often said that the road to hell is paved with good intentions.This truly stands apt in case of ragging.What starts as a friendly introduction or interaction between seniors and juniors takes no time to assume disgusting and perverted overtones.
More often than not the senior students make it an excuse to harrass their juniors.
Every person/student is different and has different mental strenghth.Something which might be be fun for a student might not be the same for the other.
And the worst part is that most of the college authorities fail to understand how grave the situation is.Year after year so many students are subjected to ragging some in the extreme forms.
Some cases do bag the headlines.There are so many students who go into depression,have suicidial tendencies,suffer nervous breakdowns,and so on.
For any students who slogs all through the year to make to his/her dream College this is not what he/she expects right at the onset of College Life.

Ragging is no more a 'cool' thing to do.
It is high time that we wake up and realise the seriousness of the problem and set hard punishment for anyone who indulges in ragging.
